We have
been very pleased with the Trane heating unit and with the
service we have received. You have been prompt, courteous,
professional and honest.

The
estimator for the new furnace and A/C unit was very helpful
in product knowledge and follow-up. I have been very happy
with the unit. It has cut my winter heating bills in half
and given me a cool house in the summer. They worked the
installation around a death in the family, which was
appreciated. The owner, estimator and installers were all
very nice people to work with.

After
several referrals by friends, I chose Lyons Heating &
Cooling to be my provider. The consultation provided was
thorough and all options were presented. The installation
was completed by excellent, knowledgeable technicians and
the owner, Carl, was fabulous with his follow-up and
training. All rebates were given, all paperwork prepared
and I had nothing to be concerned over. Outstanding
product, service and customer care.

Thus far
we are extremely pleased both with our geothermal heating
and cooling system and the service we have received from
Lyons Heating & Cooling. Your people are very professional
and efficient.

I
designed and general contracted my family home on rural
acreage. With only electricity as a power source in the
location, and knowing that a heat pump was the way to go, I
began researching, and decided on, geothermal. Along the
way, I learned of a few local companies that install
geothermal systems. I interviewed three companies and got
bids from each. It was clear to me that Carl Robins knew
geothermal systems inside and out. He spoke in a technical
language that seemed foreign to me. All I wanted to know
was how efficient it would be, how it would heat in low
temperature situations, how long it would last, and how much
it would cost.
I’m glad
I chose Lyons Heating & Cooling. Carl knew that I wanted a
real energy efficient home. I let him know I was going to
try to get an Energy Star rating. Carl and his crew made a
big effort to help make that happen. After all the testing
was completed, I did receive the award. My system went into
operation in late August of 2007. So far, the performance
and energy savings have exceeded expectations.
My
previous family home had an air-to-air heat pump. It was
very economical. However, when the outside temperature got
down to 35, the system couldn’t quite keep up. The further
the outside temperature dropped, the further behind the
system fell, and the lower the indoor temperature was. Of
course, there was always the option of switching over to the
(very expensive) backup electric furnace.
In the
new home, that problem is gone. My family now enjoys a
warm, comfortable home in the wintertime, no matter what the
temperature is outside. There are so many advantages to the
geothermal heat pump. I could go on and on. Carl Robins
and his staff at Lyons Heating & Cooling have fair pricing,
the best equipment, and a knowledgeable, caring attitude
about customer service.
I hired
and supervised all the subcontractors for my home building
project. Looking back, I can honestly say I would probably
re-hire less than half of the ones I used, and recommend
even less than that.
Lyons
Heating & Cooling is one outfit I would not only hire again,
but recommend without hesitation.

Lyons
Heating & Cooling installed our WaterFurnace in our new
green home. The performance of the furnace is outstanding
and the customer service is exceptional. We received a
personal orientation to our new system and Lyons even
provided us with all our energy credit forms completely
filled out! That saved us from trying to navigate our way
through forms and rules. We recommend Lyons Heating &
Cooling for its excellent products coupled with above and
beyond service.

It is just
a few days before Christmas 2008. It is 26 degrees outside
and we are toasty warm in our home. For the last ten days
we have been having a severe winter storm with lots of cold
temperatures, snow and ice. Our WaterFurnace system works
wonderfully. Our home cruises along at an even 69 degrees
during the day and 64 degrees at night just like we want it
to.
Early this
year, we replaced our oil furnace with a WaterFurnace
system. The first thing we noticed was that our house had a
nice even temperature throughout the house, while previously
we had warm and cool areas. We used to set our thermostat
to 72 degrees to be comfortable in the warm areas, now we
set it at 69 degrees to be comfortable anywhere in the
house. The second thing we noticed was how quiet the system
ran. One of our complaints about our oil furnace was it was
in a closet in the middle of the house and when it turned on
and ran it made a lot of noise, it would disturb our sleep
and we would have to turn the volume up on the TV. When we
put the Water Furnace in, we had it installed in our garage
and ran duct work from it back to the middle of our house to
tie into the original duct system. Now we hardly notice any
noise at all from the heating system. The noise level is
low in the garage when the system is running.
My wife and
I are very concerned about doing our part to take care of
the environment. One of our big reasons for investing in a
WaterFurnace system was to stop burning oil and use clean
electricity. We buy clean wind electricity from PGE for our
home. Another big factor of the WaterFurnace system is the
energy efficiency, where it is drawing heat from the earth
to use in heating our home. I have not used the system for
a whole year but I expect the cost of heating our home will
have been significantly reduced.
I should
mention about using the system for air conditioning. We
lived in our house for a number of years with no air
conditioning and we got along OK. Last summer we used the
air conditioning when the weather got hot and we really
appreciated how well it worked. Even though we were
concerned about using electricity to run air conditioning
when we did not really need to, we did it because it felt so
good and it actually did not use very much electricity. I
have a 2,000 sq ft house that was built in 1958. In recent
years, I have insulated it well and put in new thermal pane
windows.
I love good
equipment, computers, engineering and all that sort of
stuff. I installed a temperature monitoring system in the
ground, and on the pipes carrying the geothermal water into
and out of the WaterFurnace. The monitoring system sends
data to my computer where it is recorded. I wanted to see
how it all worked and how much heat was getting sucked out
of the earth. Tonight the circulating water temperature
leaving the WaterFurnace, after it has had heat extracted,
and going to the beginning of the underground pipe loop is
43˚F, the water travels 400 ft to the middle of the loop
where its temperature is 45˚ and it goes another 400 ft to
the end of the loop where its temperature is 46 degrees. I
put an additional sensor 25 ft beyond the furthest point the
loop goes to, in order to record the ground temperature
where it is not affected by the heat extraction of the
geothermal loop system. The temperature at this point is
51.8˚ tonight.
My wife and
I are very satisfied with our Water Furnace system. We feel
Carl did a great job designing and installing our system so
our house is comfortable year round.
